Sun Damage

sun damage

While there are benefits to sun exposure such as Vitamin D, ultraviolet light is also the cause of sun damage to the skin. Long-term damage arises from a lifetime of cumulative sun exposure and often presents itself as premature aging of the skin. Irregular brown discolouration, unwanted redness and blood vessels, and advanced wrinkling and little bumps may result as well. Precancerous spots (actinic keratosis) are also common, and require medical attention. Prevention by educated sun awareness, judicious use of sun protection, and regular skin monitoring are important.

At Affordable Laser and Cosmetic Clinic, skin rejuvenation, Hydrafacials, and Fruit-Acid peels are popular ways to treat sun damaged skin.  Our St. Catharines, Ontario skin rejuvenation treatments are physician directed and include a comprehensive skin care program.
